The 18th INTERNATIONAL SHIP AND OFFSHORE STRUCTURES CONGRESS takes place
in Rostock in 2012.

The CEO of Nowatec leads the work of Commitee V.1, Damage Assessment Following Accidents, for the Congress.

The mandate of the committee is the concern for the structural integrity of offshore installations exposed to hazards. The aims are to assess the risk associated with damage, the range of repair required and the effects of temporary repairs and mitigating actions following the damage. The hazards to be considered include hydrocarbon explosions and fires, wave impact, water-in-deck, dropped objects, ship impacts, earthquakes, abnormal environmental actions and possible illegal activities like the use of explosives and projectiles.
